It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Eve Millham. Eve was the close friend and companion of our Treasurer, Lou Hopkins. She had fought a long hard battle with cancer, never once giving in to this terrible decease. In November Eve, partnered with Tony Millward, won the Hardbat Plate Doubles event, but became too ill to collect her trophy at the Presentation Picnic in June.
Eve's funeral will be held the Sutton Road Crematorium in Southend at 11.40am on Friday 27 August. She had planned her funeral to a fine art and the details are as follows: No black clothing and no black ties; she did not want it to be a morbid affair. Her only request was that everyone wear a pink button hole.
Eve asked that no flowers be sent, but as the hospice she was in was so wonderful to her, she asked that donations be sent to the Fairhaven's Hospice.
Cheques should be sent to The Administration Office, Fairhaven's Hospice, Stuart House, 47 Second Avenue, Westcliffe on Sea, Essex, SS0 8HX".
Our thoughts are with Lou and Eve's family at this very sad time.

Emily Godfrey (TT-on-Sea) reaches Quarter-Finals of National U14 Girls Championships
In the National U14 Girls Championships in Doncaster, Emily Godfrey won through the group stage, winning 3 out of 4 matches. Emily was then drawn against Chrissie Slot who is Ranked No. 2 in England Under 13's. An incredible performance by Emily saw her defeat the England No.2 in 3 straight games 11-3, 11-8, 11-7. Poor luck with the draw meant Emily was drawn against The England Under 13's Rank No.1, Tin-Tin Ho, in the quarter finals, and was beaten 2-11, 6-11, 3-11. Tin-Tin Ho, as expected went on to win the Final. St Peters TTC needs at least two players for the next season, presumably for Div 3. The venue will be Don Baker's at 39 Selbourne Road, Benfleet on Friday nights - from Paul Read
Congrats to Kevin Read winning British League Player of the Season for Div 3 South
