|News Item #15: Brench Moon|
|Date: 10th January 2005|
It is with regret that I have to announce the death of Brench Moon. Brench played table tennis for Rayleigh Mill for many years. He was a member of the Southend Table Tennis management committee for many years and with his wife Shirley (who provided the refreshments at all the tournaments) worked tirelessly for the benifit of Rayleigh, Southend and Essex table tennis. They were awarded the Corti Woodcock trophy for services to Essex table tennis.
Brench and Shirley moved to Somerset when he retired, where they still played table tennis. He had to have a pacemaker fitted last year but had a stroke on christmas day and was admitted to hospital. Brench passed away in the early hours of Saturday 8th January 2005.
I know all our thoughts are with Shirley and we hope they will give her some comfort at this sad time.
