Stuart Gibbs††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† The new President of SDTTL

At the same time, we propose that Kath Peer becomes Life President, the League Executive Committee has great pleasure in unanimously proposing that Stuart Gibbs becomes our President. We had Kathís support for this and the support of Gordon Swan our Vice President.

Stuart has had an amazingly successful playing career; second to none in our opinion. He was England Number 1 at junior, senior and vets levels and as a young player formed a close friendship with the legendary Chester Barnes: Stuart won many titles.

Stuart joined the Southend League in his late twenties and won our Men's Singles title 5 times along with many other titles locally and in the count y; including 6 successive Essex Menís Vets titles.

Stuart has given up much of his time with the coaching of youngsters in Essex and indeed where ever he can.

Stuart is recognised throughout the world of Table Tennis as a major achiever and ambassador of our sport and we have great pleasure in making this proposal.

A shower of hand followed, totally unanimous and we welcomed

Stuart Gibbs

As the new President of the Southend and District Table League
