
All Teams
in the Premier, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Divisions of the
Southend & District Table Tennis League have been entered into this
Season’s Rosebowl Knockout Cup Handicap Competition.
Result Sheets
i. The Rose Bowl Draw, together with Result Sheets, player Handicaps & Rules
are on our Web Site.
ii. The winning Captain must email the result of each round to louhopkins@sdttl.info
with a copy to jej@sdttl.freeserve.co.uk
and kenfield@sdttl.info .
Handicaps
i. Players’ handicaps will be based on last year’s averages
ii. In certain circumstances, Players will be handicapped above their
Division.
iii. Handicaps will be reviewed after Round 2.
iv. Handicaps to be netted down, so that one player will be playing from naught
in each set.
v. In Doubles, add both handicaps together and divide by 2: all half numbers
to be rounded up to the next whole number.
vi. It is the responsibility of Team Captains, to ensure that all members of
their team have a handicap rating, prior to the commencement of each match.
Ineligible Players
i. Players, playing in Round 3 and after, must have played at least 33% of
their team’s league matches: any points won by ineligible Players will be declared
null and void.
Match Format
i.
Each Team
Captain will write down their player order, on their copy of the Result Sheet
and exchange sheets before the Match commences.
ii.
Teams
will comprise of 3 players each.
iii.
1st
Round Matches must be completed by Friday 17th October.
iv.
Matches will
be best of 9 Games. Comprising 6 singles and 3 doubles.
v.
Games
will be best of 3 sets.
vi.
Sets will
be played from 0 up to 17.
vii.
In each set,
each player shall serve 2 points and then serve changes, continuing up to 16.
viii.
16 all –
Deuce. In any set, where the score
reaches 16 all, there will be alternate serves until one player is 2 points
ahead and wins the set. However, when a
player is playing a player from a lower division, the lower division player
will serve all serves after 16 all is reached
ix.
Ends. Players will not change ends during the
middle of a deciding Set, for Singles or for Doubles and the order of Doubles
stays the same throughout the final set.
Premier sides verses sides from lower
divisions.
As far as possible, all Premier
sides will be drawn against teams from lower Divisions. In these matches, the
Premier sides will play as per their handicaps shown on the Handicap List, but
their lower division opponents will each play off of the lowest handicap for
their Division. In these matches Division 1 players will all start at 6.
Division 2 will start at 10, Division 3 will start at 13.
Players handicapped above their
Division, will play off their handicap as per the handicap list: these players
are shown in red.
